Benefits of Pilates

The Classical Pilates Method captures the benefits of Eastern exercise philosophies, like yoga, by emphasizing mental focus, breathing, and flexibility.

Practiced faithfully, Pilates yields numerous benefits. Increased lung capacity and circulation through deep, healthy breathing is a primary focus. Strength and flexibility, particularly of the abdomen and back muscles are key components in an effective Pilates program.

Posture, balance, and core strength are all heartily increased. Bone density and joint health improve, and many experience positive body awareness for the first time. Pilates teaches balance and control of the body, and that capacity spills over into other areas of one’s life.

Selecting the Right Level

Pilates requires a through understanding of the foundation principles before moving onto a flowing workout class.
The movements are continuous from one exercise to the next, and as the participant progresses, the workout becomes increasingly more challenging and aerobic. Please review the levels listed below to find the class that best for you.

I - BEGINNER
Learn the essentials of Pilates. The Beginner classes will allow you to train coordination, become more aware of your breath, develop precision of movement and concentration. You will also begin to learn to move and lengthen from your center.

II - ADVANCED BEGINNER
Continue to learn more of the basic Pilates exercises and refine your skills.

III - INTERMEDIATE
Challenge yourself after you learn the basics with more complicated skills and more dynamic, flowing movements at a faster tempo.

IV - ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE
Experienced students only. These classes are designed for participants strong in their ability and knowledge of Pilates. Your continued progression and commitment to this level will develop: a stronger core, greater shoulder stability, employ oppositional energy and advanced spinal articulation.

V - ADVANCED
You've got it now! Enter these flowing, fast paced and vigorous classes. You will be able to master the full sequence of mat and/or equipment exercises.
Instructor recommendation required.

Pilates Training

Using private sessions as an initial evaluation is highly recommended and a great way to experience what the studio has to offer. Privates may be used on an ongoing basis if you prefer to work individually with an instructor.
1:1 PRIVATE TRAINING
Privates in Pilates are the most effective way to focus on your individual needs and goals. The instructor provides you with a challenging and beneficial lesson that gives you some insight into your body’s movement capabilities.
1:2 SEMI-PRIVATE TRAINING
Pair up with a friend for a fun workout. The instructor creates a program that benefits both students
GROUP EQUIPMENT CLASSES
These classes are offered on the reformer, chair, tower, or as a combination of equipment pieces.
